8 Ideas for Printing Wedding Photos | Wall Art, Albums, Books, & Prints

You’ve taken your engagement, bridal, or maybe even wedding photos. Now what? While our digital world is certainly convenient, it’s not always best for keeping memories alive. Often, photos get stuck in iPhone albums or desktop folder for years until we eventually forget about them. But photos are meant to be enjoyed and shared. That’s a large part of their value. There’s just something about feeling the pages as you flip through the albums, telling stories and taking time to appreciate the details. When you glance at the canvas above your mantel, you’re reminded to keep stealing kisses even when life gets busy. One day, you may want to pass them down to younger generations. You won’t regret printing your wedding photos when you get them as opposed to waiting.

You don’t get to experience your wedding photos in digital format. I recommend printing your wedding photos as soon as possible. If you put it off, they risk sitting in digital purgatory. Maybe you’re moving or have other big life transitions coming up and don’t know if you want a gallery or canvas or which wall art will go best in your living space. That’s ok. You can figure it out when the time comes. But at least print a few albums, books, or other keepsakes. Plus, as you look through them from time to time, certain photos may captivate you, and then you’ll know which ones you want to frame or display on your walls.

*Note: Be sure to check out the Gallery Store when you receive your online gallery. Since PicTime partners with professional print labs, you can know that the color, size, and quality will be retained in your prints or products. When you print your photos elsewhere, there’s a chance the color may be off or they’ll get cropped (see examples here). I recommend going with a professional print lab or printing company as opposed to a same-day grocery store printing station.

8 Ways to Display Your Wedding Photos

Lay-Flat Albums

These have thick, board-like pages for a sturdy and sleek album. Lay-flat albums look great on an end table or coffee table for you and guests to enjoy.

Photo Books (Magazine-Style)

If you love the feel of flexible but durable pages, you might want to create several softcover books (or hardcover with flexible pages). You could design a book for each chapter of your story and keep it going. For instance, a book for your proposal and engagement, one for bridals, another for wedding, a book for honeymoon, and so on. They look great together as a bookshelf collection, and they’re also light and portable—a casual flip-through experience like the old photo albums we used to have, but better.

Metal or Canvas Prints

Depending on your home décor and overall style, you can choose between metal and canvas prints. Metal prints feel modern and a bit industrial. Images are clear and sharp, although they can be a bit glossy or reflective due to the metal. They’re also the sturdiest, and you can wipe them clean if they’re in high-traffic areas. Canvas prints have a softer look and feel. They can stand alone, or you can frame the canvas.

Matted Frames

Traditional matted frames will never go out of style and work well for medium to large prints. Black and white images look especially stunning in matted frames. Add an extra-wide mat and thin frame to make the photo pop even more.

Gallery Wall | 3 Ways

Display your favorite wedding pictures by creating a gallery wall. Here are my top 3 styles for gallery walls:

  • 2-3 Large Canvas Panels (You might prefer splitting one image into three panels or going with three separate portrait-sized images.)
  • Frameless Gallery
  • Framed Gallery

Prints & Heirloom Photo Box

With so many wedding images, you may just want to have regular 4X6 or 5X7 prints of your wedding day. I still recommend a printing company so that the color and size remain true. Then, you can purchase an heirloom photo box to store them. You could even go up a size and put keepsake items like your wedding invitation suite, his dried boutonniere, and a bouquet ribbon in there as well.

Announcement & Seasonal Greeting Cards

People will love to see your faces on wedding announcements and holiday cards. It’s a fun and easy way to add personality to your cards.

Photo Products

Calendars, tumblers & mugs, planners, blankets, etc. You can get your photos printed on pretty much any product. When you get your digital gallery, you can shop the PicTime store which has partnered with professional print labs. I love their clean and timeless photo calendars that work well in any space.
